Mike Smith, PE, PLS, WRS has been an Engineer and Surveyor in NV and CA since before you were born. He graciously joined the Robison team in 2021 to do a bit of mentoring, and quickly found himself back in the project fast lane, in growing responsible charge and surrounded by independent young professionals thirsty for knowledge. “Once in a Lifetime” by the Talking Heads is on a constant loop in his pickup truck.

Rich has been in the profession of land surveying for 12 years. He enjoys the interaction between people and plans. The world isn’t 24”x36” and flat. That’s why we’re here. If he isn’t working or spending time with the kids, you’ll see him on the disc golf course.

Ryan Sigler has been at Robison since 2011, and leads our UAS / Drone program, so he is on the front lines of the coming robot revolution. When not in the field, he’s processing data, worrying about data, and daydreaming about creating even better data.

Field Professional
Aaron has been land surveying for several years, enjoying the balance between the technical aspects of the job and time spent outdoors. Whether working in challenging terrain or drafting maps in the office, he’s passionate about land surveying. Eager to learn, he values mentorship from experienced professionals to continue growing his skills. Outside of work, he enjoys mountain biking, planning his next Sierra backcountry adventure, or exploring rugged landscapes of the Great Basin with his wife.

Field Professional
Steve grew up in Perth, Australia and attended the University of Southern Queensland, graduating with a degree in Spatial Science; majoring in Surveying. He moved to the United States in 2020 and began surveying in southwestern Colorado before moving to Reno to join Robison in early 2025. Steve also brings with him several years of experience from Australia’s mining and resources sector, and specializes in construction surveying, topographic surveys, boundary surveys, control networks, cadastral surveys, and 3D scanning. Outside of work, Steve enjoys hiking, fishing, and snowboarding.
